This is off a relative's Craftsman mower, LT1000 or something along those lines, I don't know my Craftsman stuff. I was given the job of fixing this while my dad put in her new gas tank. At the end the thing looks pretty ugly, that's because I was bonding a different kind of plastic to it, so I had no other choice but to leave it for a minute until it hardened. It looks a lot prettier than it did in the video, and hasn't fallen apart. My John Deere hat that I used this method to fix is dying, soon it will no longer be with us, unless I can fix it. Honestly I would like one made in America this time. All of this was done with a soldering iron, nothing else. I had to mute the video because I had music playing in the background. Maybe more photography stuff up this week.

- I need help finding a grass catcher for my older model craftsman riding mower?
Anybody know where to find either universal grass catchers or older model craftsman riding mower accessories. I just bought my house and it came with a riding mower, and the thing runs perfectly, however I desperately need a grass catcher. I have spent countless hours on the internet with no luck. The model of my riding mower is 917.254274 and it has a 36" deck. Thank you everybody in advance for the help and advice!
A contact your sears repair location for appropriate part # and price. i use a mulching blade on my mower and recycle the grass onto itself.

A After some trial and error I located the parts listing and diagram for your model mower at Sears.com From what I could tell you have a no frills model at least 5 years old which probably did not come with the ability to bag grass clippings. The only parts I could see listed which were even closely related were a replacement discharge guard (part number 160831) and a mulching plate (part number 160830) which would convert the mower to a mulching mower instead of a side discharge. It's possible that you could check a Sears store or a Sears Hardware store near you and see if they have a universal side bag kit that would fit your model. The Craftsman #33076 is a likely candidate.
