Today the baseball catcher is a familiar but uninspiring figure. Decked out in the so-called tools of ignorance, he stolidly goes about his duty without attracting much attention. But it wasn't always that way, as Peter Morris shows in this lively and original study. In baseball's early days, catchers stood a safe distance back of the batter. Then the introduction of the curveball in the 1870s led them to move up directly behind home plate, even though they still wore no gloves or protective equipment. Extraordinary courage became the catcher's most notable requirement, but the new positioning also demanded that the catcher have lightning-fast reflexes, great hands, and a cannon for a throwing arm. With so great a range of needed skills, a special mystique came to surround the position, and it began to seem that a good catcher could single-handedly make the difference between winning and losing.

PART 1 This green 2001 Craftsman LT1000 21hp lawn tractor with the Briggs & Stratton engine is the one that replaced my gray 2002 model LT2000 tractor with the 17hp Kohler engine. Even though its slightly older, the engine is powerful, and cuts the grass easily and nicely, goes through even tall thick grass like its nothing.

- I need help finding a grass catcher for my older model craftsman riding mower?
Anybody know where to find either universal grass catchers or older model craftsman riding mower accessories. I just bought my house and it came with a riding mower, and the thing runs perfectly, however I desperately need a grass catcher. I have spent countless hours on the internet with no luck. The model of my riding mower is 917.254274 and it has a 36" deck. Thank you everybody in advance for the help and advice!
A contact your sears repair location for appropriate part # and price. i use a mulching blade on my mower and recycle the grass onto itself.

A After some trial and error I located the parts listing and diagram for your model mower at Sears.com From what I could tell you have a no frills model at least 5 years old which probably did not come with the ability to bag grass clippings. The only parts I could see listed which were even closely related were a replacement discharge guard (part number 160831) and a mulching plate (part number 160830) which would convert the mower to a mulching mower instead of a side discharge. It's possible that you could check a Sears store or a Sears Hardware store near you and see if they have a universal side bag kit that would fit your model. The Craftsman #33076 is a likely candidate.
