- How do I remove the front rims from a Craftsman riding mower?
I have an older Craftsman riding mower and bought new tires for the front but need to remove the rims to have them put on. I could not find pins once I got the little plastic black cap off, just grease.... PLEASE for the LOVE, anyone that can help, please do or highway 80 is going to be blocked with the wreckage of a mower.....
A If there's grease then there's a bearing under the grease. Wipe away the grease and look for a cotter pin or a circlip on the axle. If you don't get it post a link to a picture of a close up any we'll be able to help.

I have a craftsman riding mower. I was mowing and all of a sudden heavy white smoke came out of exhaust. I looked in the carb under the air filter and discovered a lot of oil. Can you tell me what happened and what can I do to fix it?
A Check the level of the oil in the crankcase. It can not be over the full mark. Drain out any excess and change the air filter.
