- John Deere LT133 Transaxle pulley hard to spin?
I just Put a new belt on and also changed some of the gears. I use the belt and the pulley and it spins a little and then it is is really hard to move it but after you do that it it happens again and again. The lawnmower can move the pulley because it is so hard so you have to turn it off because it starts smoking. Any Help Would Be GREAT Thank you.
A Check the routing of the belt, sounds like you have something wrong. You did not say which pully, but if it is one of the idler pullies it should spin freely with no belt on it.

A It could be alot of different factors : The pulley is out of alignment and not spinning freely. It needs fresh grease to lubricate. It is on an angle not letting the belt in the groove right. The pulley on the other side has similar problems like listed above. I.E. for spinning the lawn mower blade. Or The other side to be powered is jammed or stuck.
