- How do you get a lawn mower tire to go back on the rim?
I have a flat tire on my riding lawn mower. It's off the rim about a inch. I'm not sure what I need to do to fix it. It's one of the back tires.
A first it probably came off the rim from low air. you need to fix the leak first. you need to remove the tire from the machine, take the tire off the rim with a screw diver(being careful not to poke the tube) this should be easy as it's already coming off.fill the tube with air and hold under water in the sink. patch kits are available at hdwre stores or circle k. after repair or if tube is not flat to start you need to release air and push tire back in place with fingers until it gets tough then use regular screwdriver to finish. fill with air. easier to take to tire repair 4or 5$ good luck.

- Can you seal pinhole tire air leaks by running grease on inner rim before airing riding mower tire up?
Can you seal pinhole tire air leaks by running grease on inner rim before airing tire up on riding mower? Was told this would work by someone that worked on riding mowers.. Looking for answers from all the small engine genious'. Thanks
A No. This will be a very bad practice. Grease degrades rubber- eats it up. If the grease gets in the bead section of the rim and the tire slips, the valve stem will get ripped out of the tube over and over. Water test the tube to find the leak and patch the leak. There is no lazy shortcut better than doing the job right the first time.
