- Green mtd mower blade disengaging?
I have a green mtd mower and the blade disengages every so often whenever i cut the lawn and i was needing to know how to fix this probem.
A The link below is to their customer service area - it sounds like you could have a loose, damaged or bent connection to the mowing attachment or you could have a short in the clutch where the blade operation is controlled. In either case, there could be a bad problem if the mower attachment came loose while operating - so contact the folks below or look under mower service in the yellow pages for a place that you can take it to for repairs.

Hi, I'm researching for a friend of mine who is looking for an MTD lawn mower. It HAS to have an automatic transmission (she's stubborn that way). Can anyone tell me if MTD even makes automatic transmissions? If not, can you recommend a brand of lawn mower I should look into for an automatic transmission. This woman is so stubborn, she will not take it unless it has a gas and brake pedal on the right side. She will not be happy otherwise.
A MTD does make mowers with automatic transmissions, but I don't know if they are sold under the MTD name. I know Lowe's, Home Depot, and Tractor Supply sell MTD products, and I'm sure there are other stores as well. MTD also makes mowers under alot of other names, including Troybilt sold at Lowes, lots of store brands. Usually you can look under the seat or hood and it will show the manufacturer. So if she is set on an MTD you can braoden your search. Hope this helps, Alan
