- 3 hp briggs on old tiller running rich and wont rev up?
i have an old simplicity tiller with a 3 hp briggs on it. last year run fine till last till and it died and would not restart. i just put it up for winter. got it out and cleaned carb and installed a new carb rebuild kit, new plug cleaned the flywheel and coil ground check the points. it will start and run but only at a rough idle. it will not rev up enough to kit in the tines. i have check everything on this that i can think of and still can not get it working. any help would be great. it is getting gas. and the spark is strong enough that i can no hold on to it. i have also check the flywheel key to make sure it is still in time. what else can i do. the carb only has one adjustment screw and is a slid out choke. thanks the carb rebuild kit came with everything new gaskets, needle valve and new seat. i cant get it to run long enough to let it warm up it dies about a min or two after starting i have tried to adjust the idle while it is running but nothing seems to change run it out to far and it dies in to far and it dies. any other ideas would be great thanks sam
A New oil, New park Plug, New Gas....When you get the engine running ..Let it warm a little then re-set the needle valve till the engine runs right

- Growing a Backyard Veggie/Fruit garden. Relatively simpler than people think??
When I ask someone what they think of my garden in the making they usually come up with reasons why its not going to work like "Oh,corn isn't supposed to grow until this month or that month" and watermellons shouldnt be in a mound of dirt it should be in a mound of Miracle Grow Fertalizer Mixed with Sand yatta yatta yatta. Do all these small things really matter??If I start growing veggies and fruits when summer starts put the seeds in rows of native soil ( that has been churned up with a land tiller w/ weeds and rocks taken out) and water them well they should grow fine right? I'm sure if I followed every tip and hint that people take so seriously I would be overwhelmed and Sun Dirt and Water with alotta TLC i should be fine right? P.s I am growing assorted things : Corn, tomatoes, peppers,Onions, cabbage, squash, watermellons,Pumpkins, beans and a couple herbs.. ona area of 60 x 25 ft Lemme know if you think I can pull it off with simplicity..or am I doomed to have shabby results Thanx Z.
A Well I started my own garden last summer, without knowing anything about gardening. I didn't even know how to handle the tools. What I can tell you is that is kind of a hard work, as you find something to do everyday. But: I didn't use any fertilizer; I didn't use any pesticide. I prepared most of the seedlings myself, building a small bed covered with glass. I've just bought the seeds from the supermarket. All my neighbors were telling me that I will never get a crop from my garden if I won't use pesticides. But believe me I did. All last summer I had a lot of tomatoes, cucumbers, zucchini, egg plants etc. And all I did was to plant them, water them almost every evening, as the weather was very hot, and take care not to spill water on their leaves. Just take care to put the small plants in front, so they can get enough sun. If you buy seed, on the back on the envelope you will usually find sowing instructions. I wish you good luck!
