- my 20 horse yardman mower runs about an hour then quits, like it is out of gas. oil is fine?
I think it is overheating, it just shuts down. it is air cooled, but I can get it back running after it sits a while. but I have a large yard to cut and would rather just do it all at 1 time. takes 4 hrs. without stopping for this crap. any ideas as to what the problem is with the dumb thing? coils going bad?

A It does sound like ignition coils. Next time it quits check for spark. Overheating could be caused by grass built up in the cooling fins. It is surprising how much stuff gets stuck in there. You will need to remove the cowling to clean it. Not much else would make it run hot other than a lean fuel mixture. That could be caused by a dirty carburetor or an air leak.
